We enjoyed a night at Laugh it up Milwaukee

Dave and I enjoyed being able to show Sunny around and let people know of our story. As our story is shared we are able to help other receive the same miracle that we have been given.
Lily Grace, Mike Kass, & Ed Peeples. Lily & Ed did such a wonderful showing how diabetic alert dogs can help and alert people with diabetes.
John and Becky Jackson, Sunny, Me, Dave, Stan Kass, Reggie, and Becky's Mother. The night was a success as we enjoyed listening to Susie Essman and Richard Lewis. (Susie was soooo funny). The night was dedicated to Stan's wife Lee who passed away 3 years ago. I was so proud of Stan as he shared his love for his wife and for the dogs. Through him we are going to be able to help so many other families. I am proud to be his friend.

A boy with his dog!

When Sunny's B-day party was over it was time for him to say goodbye to Sunny. Lily and I watched Nathan start to cry and it broke our hearts. Lily decided that Nathan could have a few more hours with Sunny before it was time for him to go. He took that time and spent every moment with him, giving him love and devotion.

Sunny's 1st Birthday Party

Sunny turned 1 this week on Jan. 17th. It was really nice to be able to spend it with him and with friends. These big mile stones are so important. What a treat to be able to celebrate.

Evening of bonding

We spent a wonderful quiet evening with Lily Grace (owner of NIDAD), Ed Peeples (Sunny's trainer), Dodger (a fully trained diabetic alert dog), and Sunny. Nathan and Sunny had a lot of time to play and bond. Ashton was thrilled to be able to play with Dodger while Nathan played with Sunny. It was a wonderful evening that let us know how well Sunny will fit into our family.

Live at Noon: Diabetic Alert Dog Fundraiser - TODAY'S TMJ4

Today the channel 4 news did a live interview with us.  They showed Nathan and Sunny meeting for the first time, talked about diabetic alert dogs and how they can help people, and discussed the big fundraiser that is happening tomorrow.  We are so excited to be a part of this fundraiser where they will be raising money to help other families get diabetic alert dogs.  What an amazing blessing!!!

Nathan meets Sunny for the 1st time!

Nathan was sooooo excited to meet Sunny. He sat at the window waiting for them to arrive. When they pulled up he ran out and immediatly went to Sunny. It was so wonderful to see them start to bond. As I watched them together I knew that they are ment to be.

Sunny is feeling better!

Update of Sunny, As many of you know Sunny developed car sickness. Through great training over the past 6 weeks he is basically over it and will start to scent train again next week. This will put him coming sometime in March if all goes well. :-) Nathan was able to skype today with Sunny. He showed Sunny some of the fun toys he bought for him and Sunny showed Nathan how great he is at following commands. He is such a happy, happy dog and we are so please that he is doing better. We can't wait until he comes. Great job Sunny and keep working hard! (Special thanks to Edwin Peeples for being such a great trainer)
